Antimicrobial Laminates

Antimicrobial laminate is a polymer-matrix composite which consists of layers of materials that have been injected with a resistance to microbial growth.

Here at Lanes Printers we have been using antimicrobial laminate as, due to the recent pandemic, we feel it is our duty to add to the prevention of bacteria growing and spreading. The laminate we are using is a biaxially oriented polypropylene film with added anti-bacterial properties.

This helps with durability and lifespan of the product, hygiene as the antibacterial properties are active 24/7. It also minimises the risk of cross contamination and has been marked safe to use by leading manufacturers and is food contact approved.

What Does Antibacterial Properties Really Mean?

In this case, it means small particles of silver ions. Silver has long been known for its ability to fight bacteria. And, by including it in this laminate, it can eliminate 99% of the bacteria cells that come into contact with your print - protecting you and others.
