Biodegradable laminates and paper

How cool would it be if you could plant paper you no longer want? Here at Lanes we do exactly that! We offer seeded paper which you can plant once finished with. This means that some of our printing paper is completely biodegradable.

These materials can be grown and recycled, they readily decompose, making them bio-contributable, which contributes to soil quality. The paper we use is either recycled or manufactured from responsibly managed forests which mean that they are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Almost all the paper we use is recyclable and biodegradable. We do not just offer seeded paper, we are also able to produce biodegradable laminated paper as an option at Lanes Printers.

Seeded Paper

We offer seeded paper, which is an eco-friendly paper made from post-consumer materials embedded with different seeds. The simple notion of planting paper in a pot of soil or outside in a garden seems fun as well as helpful to the environment. The science behind this means that the seeds within the paper germinate and grow into plants once planted in soil. This means that there is no waste left behind, making it completely biodegradable and kind to the planet.

Biodegradable Laminate

If lamination is causing you to worry about your carbon footprint, we’re here to help. The laminate-alternative that we can offer is an ‘over-lamination’ film product based on cellulose diacetate – and it’s sustainable, biodegradable and recyclable! Lamination can now be environmentally friendly without losing any of its aesthetic appeal that most lamination has. Our laminate is produced from highly refined wood pulp found in SFI-managed forests; it has a similar look to normal OPP lamination, but the main thing to take away is that it can be recycled or composted as part of your everyday lives.
